December..

A lot of change has been going on over at the Hartman house since I last blogged.  I am going to try and keep this short and sweet.. try is the key word in that sentence.

Brooke...
Brookie is officially out of her crib and in a big girl bed.  Right now the big girl bed consists of a twin mattress on the ground because her bed is being custom made and will be ready around the beginning of January.  For about a month prior to making the switch Brooke had started waking up during the night.  We couldn't figure out what was waking her up, I would go into her room and tell her to get her blanket and go to sleep and she would.  Not a big deal but enough to disrupt our (my) sleep and annoy me.  We decided that she was just to tall for the crib and would wake herself up during night when she would move around.  I wanted to put her in the new bed on a Friday so we had all weekend to adjust to the change but that never happened between Christmas parties and what not.
So on Sunday morning (12/4) we decided it was the day to take down her crib and there has been no looking back since.  Brooke did SOOOOO well with the change.  We had talked to her about it days before telling her about her new "big girl" bed and she was so excited.  She has been sleeping pretty well ever since but she is still a very WILD sleeper and will end up at the end of the bed but being that I still wake up to pee every night I just go move her up so she has yet to fall off.

Baby H...
Baby H is just about half baked right now and is doing GREAT .  I got the results of my AFP test about a week and a half ago and it game back normal/negative... I think that was the best post card I have ever received!!  On Thursday we had the anatomy scan to make sure all is well with the baby and to find out the sex if we wanted to.  I was convinced it was a girl and I think Todd was too because on our way to the doctors he said "I think I'm going to be stuck in a house with 3 girls.." well.. we were all WRONG.

Baby H is a BOY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Brooke was able to go to the ultrasound with us so it was fun being in there the 3 of us and the ultrasound tech.  The tech checked the baby out to make sure all the necessary parts were visible (which they were praise God) and then asked if we wanted to know the sex.  As she was just about to tell us it is a boy I asked "is that his junk?!?!" and sure enough it was him "junk".. Todd and I were in SHOCK and to be honest I still am.  I am SOOOO excited to have a little boy.  We don't have any names picked out right now and not sure if we will be telling when we do.

Survey Time...

Sleep? I sleep great except I'm still waking up to pee during the night.  I <3 nap time on the weekends!
Gender? it's a BOY!!!!
Movement? Yes!! I have been feeling him for a few weeks now.. at my ultra sound I found out I have a anterior placenta- there is no problem having that it just means I won't be feeling him as much as I could if I didn't have it.  I had it with Brooke as well so I don't really know any different.

15 week and 6 days

YES, I am pregnant!!  The news is out and has been for a while.  I am just a MAJOR slacker and haven't found the extra time in my day to sit down and finally blog about it.  We found out REALLY early so keeping it quiet and to ourselves was a challenge.  We told our family and close friends shortly after we found out and made "THE ANNOUNCEMENT" when  I was just over 13 weeks.  My due date is May 11 and I cannot believe how quickly this pregnancy is already going by!!

To announce it to my in-laws we went over to Todd's parents house in them morning and Brooke was wearing the shirt.  Todd's mom noticed it was a long sleeve shirt and said it was a nice shirt but never said anything about it.  It took her about 5 minutes to realize what it said and then ended up telling my father in law to read it and finally just told him what it said.  My parents stopped by our house later on that afternoon on their way home from Havasu.  It took my Mom a couple minutes to notice and asked B if she got a new shirt and then read what it said.  She asked us if it was true and said she knew it wasn't a hand me down from my neighbor because she was a only child, my Dad overhead my Mom say something and was also VERY excited about it.  This is will be grandchild #2 for my in laws and #7 for my parents.

We have talked to Brooke about the baby and she knows where the baby is right now.  But if you ask her where her baby is she will point to her belly and if you ask where Daddy's baby is she will point to his belly- we have a few things to teach her yet :)  At every appointment I record the heart beat since it is usually just me  going to the check up so when I get home she listens to it over and over again and knows that it is the "BAAAYBEE"

My plan is to keep up my blog now that I have a little more news to blog about and will keep track of this pregnancy by doing the little surveys that a few of my other friends have done.
Here is my "bump" picture (I was 15w2d in the pic)- I really don't have a "bump" yet, it is more of a stomach that looks like I've had one to many beers :)  That is definitely one of the plus sides of being 6ft tall- I haven't popped as quickly as others with #2.

How far along are you? 15 weeks 6 days
Total weight gain? Yes.  I've never been one to miss a meal :)  But I am watching what I eat more with #2 than I did with B
How big is the baby? Approx 4.6 inches- the size of a avocado.  Yumm.. guacamole!!
Maternity clothes? I can still wear my normal clothes.  I have bought a few shirts (which I haven't worn) and a pair of jeans.  I wear the jeans when I want to wear my boots since they are skinny jeans and they are SOOO comfy compared to regular jeans.  I'll definitely be wearing them tomorrow for Thanksgiving :)
Stretch marks?  No new ones and I hope to keep it that way.
Sleep? I sleep great except I'm still waking up to pee during the night.  I <3 nap time on the weekends!
Best movement this week? Hearing the heart beat last week at my check-up
Movement? I have yet to determine if it Baby H or gas bubbles lol
Food cravings? Oranges
Labor signs? No and I plan on keeping it that way for at least 24 more weeks.
Belly button in or out? In
What I miss: My daily Diet Dr Pepper and every other day (sometimes daily) visits to Starbucks for my Carmel Frappachino Light
What I'm looking forward to: All of the holidays and parties the next few months along with finding out what Baby H is in Dec.
Milestone:  I feel like making it another week is a milestone and such a blessing!!

Here.. there.. everywhere...

It seems we have been going non stop this summer and I like it :).  I am someone who always wants to be on the go where as Todd is someone who likes to be home.  I think that has to do with the fact that he drives at least 2 1/2 hours in traffic everyday for work.

Todd and I escaped for a over night trip to Antelope Valley Fair with some of our best friends a few weeks ago.
My BFF's brother was in a squeeze contest at the fair so about 20 of us drove about 2 hours to watch him.  They called it the "Rual Olympics", pretty much we were bringing out our inner redneck.  Jace (bff's brother) did a GREAT job.  This was his first time he competed and came in 2nd place, only 2 seconds behind the winner who has come in first place for the past 10 years.  It was a great time getting to hang out with everyone. Here is a picture of me and my  Best Friends Chelsey (the blonde in the middle) and Jenalee (the brunette) at the fair.

On Friday Brooke and I went to Disneyland with my friend Tommy who has a little boy Kayden who is 4.
Kayden is SOOOO good with Brooke and I LOVE listening to how his voice changes when he asked Brooke if she wants to do something.  It's crazy how even at that age their voices change when they talk to a baby or toddler.  We got to Disneyland with the kids around 2pm and went on a few rides in Disneyland, Jayson (Tommy's husband) and Todd met up with us around 6pm once they got off work.  We went into California Adventures with them.  Todd and Jayson were going to go on the rollercoster but it ended up being closed because the "World of Color" light show was going to start.  Todd lucked out b/c he HATES rollercoaster but wasn't about to back down from a challenge.  So Todd and Jayson took the kids on the Buzz ride while I stayed back with Tommy since she is 5 months pregnant.   We were pretty much able towalk right onto the Little Mermaid ride.
Brookie LOVED it.  It was fun being able to sit the 3 of us in our own little "shell".  Once the ride was done she kept asking for "MORE" as she has did will all the other rides we went on.

This weekend Brookie and I will be down in Long Beach because we are throwing a baby shower for my sister in law, she is having a baby girl in November.   I love going down to Long Beach because not only do I get to see my family but also my friends.  Jenalee is going to take a few pictures of Brooke for me cause the last time her picture was taken by something other than a iPhone or point n shoot camera was in April, when Jen did it.  :) I'm a bad Mom I know.  Todd is going to stay home this weekend to work in Brooke's play room and finish up the crown and baseboards.  So I'm sure I will have some new pictures to post next week :)  HOPE you all had a great Labor Day weekend!!

Catching up...

Time has been FLYING by recently.  Is it really almost the end of August already?!?!?  That means 2.5 months until B is 2 and 4 months until Christmas!!!  CRAZY

My last post I talked about a ultrasound I had to have done.  I got a call that same day that it came back clear.  PRAISE the LORD!!!!

The past month we have been busy what seems like every weekend hanging out with friends and family.

We went to the river/lake a few weeks ago.  Brooke LOVED IT.  We left Thursday night and met up with Todd's family at the River and stayed at their place until Friday night.  Brooke went on her first boat ride and absolutely loved it.  Our cousin Dustin and his friend Melissa wake boarded a few times and she kept asking for more when they fell.  She was dancing and saying "WOOOOO" while we were on the boat. She would NOT let go of Dustin (our cousin- picture to the left) the whole time, she kept wanting him to play with her and sit with him on the boat ride home.
We left Friday night and drove about 45 more minutes to my parents place in Havasu. We got up Satuday morning and went to breakfast so by the time we got back it was to late to take the boat out which was fine because we were tired from the day before.
While Brooke was taking a nap on Saturday my mom and I headed out to Hobby Lobby.  This was my first experience at Hobby Lobby and I LOVE it.  We are getting one here in Rancho in the next couple months and I can't wait for it to open :)  We all had so much fun that weekend.  I told Todd on our drive home that we should stop back in at his Uncles and stay the rest of the week.  We dont want to wait until next year before we head out again that is for sure!!

We also went to the Orange County Fair with some friends a few weeks ago.  I hadn't been for a few years.  The last time I went I was pregnant with B and we watched the hypnotist and I thought he was SOOOOO funny so I made sure we were able to see him again this year.  Brooke LOVED dancing to the music and was a people watcher just like her Daddy the whole time.  She did SOOO good being in a stroller for 4+ hours.

Well I think that is about it on updates of our life.  We have a busy upcoming month or 2... or 3 :) So hopefully I will have more pictures on things to post about

Life Happens

I tried posting this last night from my phone and it didn't work but let's pretend it did. :)

I am such a slacker...It has been almost 2 weeks since my last post. I have been a blog stalker for a couple years now and I use to get so annoyed when a blogger didn't update their blog for over a week. Well, here I am writing only my 3rd post and it has taken me almost 2 weeks.

Being a full time mom and wife is a chore in itself but throw in working 32 hours a week (i have Fridays off to spend with B-my boss would love me to be back at 40 hours but I need time with my girl) and the curve balls that life throws at you 2 weeks feel like a blink of a eye.

I have a have a ultrasound tomorrow (not a baby one). No, I have to have one of my liver. A few weeks ago during routine blood work they found that my bilirubin level was a little elevated. What is bilirubin you ask? Im not sure either.  I just remember bilirubin and jaundice going together when I was reading baby books. My Dr asked if I drank (a lot) when he read the results of the blood work. I had to laugh, No, I responded, while thinking in my head I would rather eat my calories than drink em Thank you very much :)  so he ordered a ultrasound to figure out what is going on with me. I have known about this for about a week. My mind has been all over the Place this past week. Thankfully, I have great family and friend who have been there for me trough all the crazy "what if's" I have had or the text messages I have sent.
I also has my first trip to the ER this weekend (for me and not B thankfully). I wasnt feeling well and had terrible stomach pains. So after talking to my brother and friend who are fireman they advised I get checked out since we dont have answers about what is up with my liver. I was there for about 5 hours.  After a few tests and another blood work up they sent me home advising that I still get my US done on Thursday. The good news I found out during that visit is that my bilirubin level has gone down a little in less than a week.
So hopefully Monday I will have answers and will look back at the past week And laugh because I was so concerned about something so little . Tonight some lyrics from a county song came Into my head and I Don't remember who sings it or the song but it says "... If you want to hear God laugh tell Him your plans..".
So that is where I am at tonight. I am at peace knowing God is and will take care of me no matter what it is and I need to trust in Him

I Won't Think Twice

Songs. Do you ever have it when you turn on the car and the radio comes on and the song that's playing is just what you needed to hear?
It happened to me twice yesterday. Once while I was at work and turned on my radio and then tonight when I was leaving my inlaws.  Yesterday was my sister in laws Andreas birthday. She would have been 23.  Andrea died 5 years ago in a accident at the river.  When the song by Alan Jackson called "Sissys Song" came on it made me stop what I was doing.  I started thinking about all the time we had with her and the times she missed.  The song says "...and she walks with Jesus and her loved ones waiting, and I know she's smiling sayin' dont worry about me..." it helped to remind me that Andrea is where we all want to be and to not worry about her.
It was a good night at the Hartmans. We bbq'd, laughed and at moments were all quiet.   We had the fire pit going to make smores but I couldn't help but think about Andrea. I looked at my mother in law and I can't imagine what she goes through, birthdays are supposed to be celebrations not getting together as a family to support eachother.
So last night, I hugged Brookie a little tighter, rocked her a little longer and didn't think twice about complaining if she wakes up in the middle of the night.  I have my girl an that is all that matters.

better late than never

I wanted to start a blog about 2 years ago while I was pregnant with Brooke.  Being the procrastinator that I've always been I am finally starting it... 2 years late.  I'm not sure who or if any one will read this  but at least it is a way for me to keep a record of my life.
Just a FYI this is my blog with my thoughts.  I hate having to correct my self with grammar and punctuation while i am trying to put my thoughts into writing so  you can get use to it :)

Brooke(you might also find me referring to her as B) is 20 months, 1 week and 4 days old.  Less than 4 months til my "baby" is 2!!  The baby in her is long gone and the toddler is out in full force. She loves the word "NO" and uses it quite often.  She got her first "time out" on Wednesday for saying "no" and hitting the Hubs in the face. I wasn't home when it happened (thankfully) but I do know her little feelings were hurt by how she acted the rest of the night.  B has quite the personality. She is quiet if she doesn't know you (like me) but once she is comfortable there is no stopping her. She loves her babies and is a great "mommy" already, she loves to dance (like her daddy), and reminds me every night to pray before she goes to bed by folding her hands and shaking em in my face.  My blog title refers to her as a "Diva"  if you can't tell by the pictures she is so serious when she has her glasses on and when a camera comes out,  it's like the paparazzi's are after her or something and she doesn’t want to smile.

I'm not sure how often I will be updating but I hope for it to become a habit so you can see our little family and the milestones we reach as we reach them.
